Due to the complexities in a foster youth's life, foster youth are suspended at a higher rate, perform below grade level, are held back in school, and have lower graduation rates than their peers. This session will be especially helpful for all new K--5 and K-8 school General Education Teachers who will be active participants and partners with VAPA throughout the year. A brief overview of the Middle Grades Redesign initiative will be included.
