San Francisco Unified School District is committed to creating equity-centered educational environments by enhancing teaching approaches and improving discipline practices for the benefit of each and every student. This session is designed to explore the relationship between equity and the socio-academic realities of “Black/African American” students within SFUSD. Utilizing concepts on socio-emotional development, power relations and humanizing pedagogy, attendees will learn ways to cultivate responsive socio-academic learning environments for “Black/African American” students.
